Have been to this restaurant once. Out of what I tried, I can recommend forschmak (herring appetizer) - not too salty and very refreshing - and chebureki - deep fried meat pies. These are 100 % authentic and very juicy. Chicken tapaka, meat cabbage rolls, and gefilte fish were all dry and not very flavourful. The sweet and sour meat was not bad but lacked in rye bread sauce. The rice we had on the side with the chicken was absolutely tasteless. The ambiance is there; the music is nice and not overwhelming; the fresco on the wall reminds of Chagall's paintings. The prices are very moderate; the service is OK. Overall, you can go there at least once.

I had one of the Mama's special " Gefilte fish" and chicken broth with noodles, my partner ordered home style sausages, and for the toddler his favorite meal at every place - French fries. Quite good and yummy food, ordinary service. What makes this place great is the ambiance: fireplace, murals, curtains etc. Before we went to the restaurant I browsed it online and figured that they have separate Kid's menu, however in reality it comes mixed up in the main menu. My suggestion to the owners - make a separate kid's menu. This would work for couples with kids.

I went to the restaurant for a music show organized by Ashkenaz foundation. The food was great and brought back a lot of "belly memories"... the chicken soup, the latkes, the chopped liver... followed by varenikes, fish and chicken with rice.Altogether, a fantastic experience and a place to revisit next time with family and friends.(Did I say the music was great too?)

Delicious new place! Highly recommend checking it out if you want to try some great Russian/Jewish cuisine at a great price! The ambiance is warm and friendly and the food is fresh out of the kitchen! Try the Farshmak, Harcho Soup and the Chicken Pelemeni. My absolute fav! Réservez une table maintenant

I am not sure why this restaurant has a Jewish name. The menu is basically Ukrainian and the clientele as well. It seems to be a place for regulars to gather in large groups. The food is quite tasty, but the service is nasty. Definitely don't go for the service.

The appetizers and meals were solid, stick-to-the-ribs offerings that were sentimental but not elaborate or inventive. The portions were large and simply served. Service was rather slow but the restaurant was busy and the staff were doing their best.

If you are a Russian Jew, you will feel right at home here! And even if you're, the food is delicious and the ambiance is welcoming! My one qualm is that there are often upwards of 2 popular dishes unavailable; i.e. borcht or certain desserts.

The food is pretty good and the service fine. Old fashioned ex Soviet Union food. Not specially Jewish - lots of milk and meat combos - but good. Crowded on weekends so make a reservation. Réservez une table maintenant

The food was not bad but we were ready to walk out as the soups we ordered came 45 minutes later and cold. We will never go back to this place although some of their dishes weren't bad.
