The menu here is weird, a mishmash of different cuisines, but the reviews were positive so we just gave it a try. Food was very good, we ordered an appetizer but got it prepared differently (shrimp cocktail came out cooked in some shallot juice, but it was really good so no complaints). As I said, the menu is weird so I ordered fish and chips, fish was really good, light batter and cooked well. Fries were solid and the tartar sauce was different than I expected was actually great. We were in Bern in July 2017 and had a very enjoyable dining experience at Restaurant Aarbergerhof. It is located at Aabergergasse 40 which is a main street lined with outdoor restaurants. What set this restaurant apart was the availability of an English menu which contained a mix of modern French, Italian and Swiss cuisine, as well as, a good selection of wines. You can dine outside, or pass through an arcade set with several white-cloth tables that are well-spaced. The final choice is a very tasteful dining room which would be great in the winter. Jedes Mal, wenn ich wieder in Bern bin, besuche ich gerne den Café Aarbergerhof, oder Araber, wie wir es in Bern nennen. Die Bar ist gemütlich, wo man immer interessante Leute trifft, wie auch das Restaurant, wo es immer ausgezeichnet schmeckt. Wir gingen mit meiner Mutter zum Mittagessen. Wie immer war es schön gedeckt und sehr einladend. Meine Mutter hatte den Tagesteller mit Schweinekotelett, Kroketten und Gemüse, was sehr lecker war. A must culinary and social experience when visiting Bern. This iconic restaurant is a jewel amongst all the great eateries in Switzerland's capital. Busy , a while to wait if no reservations but soooo worth it . Staff is amazing , food is delicious and if I didn't eat my appetizer so fast I would post a pic ; .. Thai appetizer .. meals are more than plenty and tasty ! It's a must when you visit

As the title suggests we were very disappointed on a Saturday lunch excursion in Bern going to this restaurant to eat. Better luck next time? I just don't understand why it was full of guests.

Enjoyed Wiener schnitzel-but had better. Had an excellent goat cheese salad. Our waiter, Steve was very engaging, we enjoyed talking with him. He was very attentive and professional.

Two different restaurant. A pasta bar with the best pasta in town the sauce is changing every day for just ten francs. The other restaurant serves traditional swiss food. Réservez une table maintenant

Nice interieur. Good food, traditional and mixed. Very central, only about 200m from main station in the old town.
