Visiting our daughter at college and a Google Maps search for food landed us at Barrel 135. The reviews sold us and after stepping inside, we were not disappointed! The cocktail menu had a lot of great options, we tried 4 or 5 and were impressed with each one for different reasons. Food was not what I expected walking in, but was right up our alley for something different. The short rib ramen was great, nice big chunks of meat, a good kick in the broth, and was something that I wouldn’t typically land on at a first-time visit… but glad I did. We’ve had two completely different experiences. First time we came here was about a month ago, and my brunch burger was the best I’ve ever had and I loved the vibe. I decided right then and there that I’m bringing my family for Father’s Day here, so we made a reservation. What a disappointment. The staff were so visibly stressed out that it rubbed off on me and I wasn’t hungry anymore. I feel bad for them, and understand how overwhelmed they were. This place has been one of my favorites since I went to Lycoming College back in 2012! I live on the other side of the country and every rare occasion that I'm back in Williamsport, I make it a point to stop into Barrel and grab martinis (that are always delicious and creative) and food that is always above par for Williamsport. Thank you Barrel for being such an amazing long standing restaurant!
