Basmati Indian Southampton

I have dined at this restaurant twice in the past two weeks. The food is excellent, especially the Chicken Dahnsak (not sure if that is the correct spelling) with a peshwari naan, which was delicious. Despite the slightly fading interior, I still give it five stars due to the wonderful owners. They are delightful individuals who provide a humorous and graceful guide through the menu, making the entire dining experience perfect. Whenever I am in Southampton, I will always choose to eat here.

Regularly visit this restaurant, normally great food and welcome. However, the more mature chap that always insists on taking the order was particularly more abrupt and “grumpy” when we visited- I normally ignore, but as the food was mediocre, I felt I needed to comment as there are other Indian restaurants in the area. My chicken Bslti was very sour.

I had dinner at Basmati tonight in Southampton (15th July) and I couldn't recommend it enough. I had the Lamb rogen josh and the lamb was cooked beautifully and very tender. The rice and naan were also amazing. Overall a fantastic meal. Will return if in Southampton again.

What a fantastic dining experience! It's always a wonderful night out at this restaurant. I've been a loyal customer for the past 15 years and every visit just keeps getting better. You can't go wrong with this place!

This is my favorite Indian restaurant to visit. I appreciate that they are willing to make adjustments to any dish, and the food always comes out perfect and delicious. I highly recommend it.
