Bismarcks Cafe Restaurant Sonnenterrasse

My husband and I went for lunch on The terrase was full, but we managed the last table for two, very sunny. As soon as a better table became available, the waitress suggested we move, which we did. My husband had a schnitzel with...wild mushrooms and I had a salad with salmon and balsamico. Food was very good and served promptly. My husband's portion was too large for his appetite, and we asked for the rest to be packed to take home. This was no problem, and we got a neat little box. We had juice served with ice which was nice because of the heat. The view from the terrasse is wonderful, you see the funicular very close, as it comes up and then returns. Price was for both. Mine kone og jeg var på tur til Bad Ems og tog bjergbanen op til Bismarks. Først gik vi ud på balkonen og tog lidt video og fotos flot udsigt over byen og dalen. Dernæst skulle jeg på wc og så vi på spisekortet udenfor. SÅ FIK VI ELLERS SKÆLDUD AF DAMEN DER EJER STEDET - VI KUNNE IKKE BARE KOMME OG TAGE VIDEO OG FOTOS UDEN AT KØBE MAD OG DRIKKE. Min kone spurgte om, hvor det stod (på engelsk) hin fik at vide at i Tyskland talte man tysk. Jeg var lige kommet ud og stod og læste menu kortet.Jeg spurgte så på tysk, hvad er problemet, hun sagde det var os der var problemet. SÅ BLEV JEG (jeg taler er fint tysk) og sagde hun skulle være glad for turister og ikke skælde dem ud, SÅ FIK JEG FINGEREN...

Tolles Ambiente mit schönem Ausblick auf die Lahn / Bad Ems von der Sonnenterrasse.Da es heute leider z.T. regnete hatten wir aber einen Tisch im Lokal bevorzugt.Speisekarte ist übersichtlich, was m.E. sehr positiv zu bewerten ist, denn weniger ist mehr!!Unsere Wahl fiel auf die Bauernsülze "Bismarck" mit Bratkartoffeln und Remoulade, und den Lachs auf Hummerschaum mit Bandnudeln und Spinat. Beide Gerichte waren schön angerichtet und sehr lecker!!!Der Service war höflich und auf Zack!!!Kleine Kritik: Der junge Kellner hatte ein Armband, dessen Leder-Schnürre etwas lang waren und beim Servieren den Tellerrand streifte... deswegen aber kein Punktabzug!

Visited twice during my stay,once for tea and cake and once for evening meal. The view is the best around and sitting outside at sunset is great. The only thing that spoiled the evening visit was the chain smoking customers at the next table,thats the...problem with allowing smoking in the gardens. Food and drink were good and reasonably priced.

We took a funicular to get to the restaurant. The food and beverages are good and the portions are generous, but what's more important the view from there is beautiful. You can sit on the terrace and enjoy the panorama of Bad Ems
