As a recent expat arrival in Aachen from Melbourne (coffee snob capital of the world!) my first priority was to find a decent cup of coffee. To my horror I discovered that the majority of cafes in Germany use a preset coffee machine and just press one button to make your coffee. No barista, no milk frother, nothing. I was so desperate I even went to Starbucks.I stumbled across this place quite coincidentally as it's close to my gym. Cafe Stopover is tucked away in Milchstrasse, which is a pedestrian-only street between Marienbongard and Pontstrasse. As a student and a coffee addict I have been searching ,since last year ,to find a Café with drinkable coffee.Unfortunately to my great disappointment there is no hope for Aachen....or at least that was what I thought until a friend recommended this tiny Café....The coffee tastes remarkably good and there is actually a barista there who knows what he is doing and doesn’t just press a button. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to tast real coffee in Aachen Réservez une table maintenant

the coffee was very good, they have a great choice of hot drinks so hard to decide! also we tried 2 different types of bananenbrot, both very good. I didn't like so much that all bananenbrot slices were wrapped in plastic (fresh retaining film). the staff was nice, the inside seats were ok, but not super nice.
