The dinner began oddly: Having arrived without a reservation we were turned away. Two other guests had arrived just after us, heard the discussion and as they also had no reservation turned to leave as well. Having gone less than 10 meters we heard the waiter call the other two back (maybe frequent visitors); the restaurant indeed had a table for them. We argued successfully the impropriety of the later arrivals being offered a table seconds after we had been turned away. It turned out (!!) there was place for both parties; the incident set the tone for the evening. Long and short the food was excellent but we were made, intentionally or not, to feel unwelcome and ultimately had to get up to...
So, we were here for a business dinner. The service was extremely attentive, they presented everything that was on the menu including the special meals of the day. They were able to explain both in English and German and they accommodated every wish we had. We had a combined plate as starter, delicious. Then different meals (fish, steak, soup) were delicious as my colleagues confirmed. They like to keep the exquisite image so each plate is decorated in a very artistic way, the plates are huge and the food is taking only half of the space on the plate. No doubt one of the best restaurants in Bad Soden, but good food and nice service is not the only thing that makes a great dinner experience.We were sitting outside in the garden for dinner, and only had ordered some drinks, when a couple was seated at the table next to us.The man didn't switch off his phone, and had to run off the terrace twice within a couple of minutes. If he wasn't on the phone he was talking very loud.He was laughing loud with a lot of drooling. Disgusting. We only had a maincourse, which was very good, and left.We didn't ask for another table, because he obviously was a regular.
Restaurant close to the H+ hotel, just across the street. we where seated outside as it was a beautifull evening. the terrace is at the fron of the restaurant close to the street, this makes it quite noisy when traffic passing by. We had a good diner, but prices are on the higher side, in my eyes the value for money was a bit out of range, especially when you take into consideration that the waitingstaff was quite hectic and not flawless. It looked to me / us that the "house guests" got better served than the guest like us who just pass by for a nice meal. All in all average experience.
This place is located on the main road and parking can be difficult at peak times. We were staying at a hotel which was walk-able distance so it worked well for us. We came here for a dinner, an impromptu team dinner but were lucky to find places as the place was almost full.The food itself tasted good, but the portion and price leave a feeling of hunger in the stomach. The service was slow but it was expected going by the nature of the place. The restaurant is located in a building with some historical significance and they seem to ride on its popularity.
I attended a business dinner here at the former house of the composer Felix Mendelsohn. The staff was very pleasant and attentive. we had some starters and I took the monkfish for main course. I was not disapointed, either by the high quality of the fish and the way it was prepared. High marks for that and for sure a nice place for getting fish in the area.
