My wife and I were looking for a place to get a hot bowl of noodle soup and some steamed and pan fried dumplings. This restaurant is located in Metro Square, a chinese plaza full of restaurants and food court. It was 2pm when we walked in and there were no customers. We ordered braised beef noodle soup and sliced pork and vegetable noodle soup. There was a generous helping of braised beef brisket and served in a large bowl good for sharing. The soup is tasty and definitely good for a cold afternoon. If we knew this was the case we wouldn't have ordered the second noodle soup. Small family style restaurants. Authentic freshly made dumpling! I can see the lady make my order at a station near my table... Ok the place is Small, so every table in the shop is near the dumpling making station... Lol The decor is definitely not glamorous. If you want faster service, you call out to get the attention of the server. With a very reasonable price point, this is a place you come for the food. Okay, so I've eaten here since I was a child and it was the same woman that makes the dumplings all the years. this is just the best emptying place where I have ever been, and I do not dare any noodle from any other place. Their pan roasted pork noodle, and dizzy with Chinese sellerie can 't go wrong with these. other good dishes: green bevel pancakes (super unique, meatball hot pot (direct translation from chinese is lion head meatball, sweet and sour crispy pork (different from their normal sweet and sour pork, they are like discs instead of balls of pork with another batter, hot and sour breadcake supper. I came here for lunch and it is was pretty quiet. The worker doesn't know English but he will ask you to point to what you want on the menu, which works. The dumplings are made fresh so there is a short wait (I waited 8 mins for mine). I got the pork and shrimp pan fried dumplings. I liked how crispy they turned out! Other than that, there's nothing really too special about them. I like the dumplings from their restaurant location in Markham more. I feel like the restaurant ones had more flavour. However for $9 for 8 dumplings, I can't really complain!
Got takeout today and can't rave how delicious the food was. The food remained warm even though I ate them after 30 mins. The hot and sour soup is the best. Everytime I go here its a must order same goes for their dumplings. The service and food quality is great! Will definitely go back!
