in the past there were always these Yugoslav restaurants in Germany. now these types of sites are harder to find. we were shopping in roermond and looking for a restaurant and somehow landed here. great reviews and it felt like a really good one. place to eat. we were not disappointed. this is an old school family. it is a big restaurant, but there was only 1 person who did serve. amazing work. even though it was quite full on the covid level and it was so waiting time. service was excellent for a 1 man team. the menu is extensive and many interesting dishes. at the end we chose 2 plates that give us 10 different types of meat. the parts were huge. we went as family of 4 while we stayed in bruggen after reading some of the great reviews and I wanted to try the balkan plate after I didn't have over 30 years. we went from village to restaurant, which lasted about...25 minutes, knowing that we would probably need the way back! the owner was brilliant; very friendly and helpful, offer great service. the restaurant itself is beautiful and absolutely flawless. we chose two of the plates, one balkan plate and another with the carvings. they were great! all flesh was perfectly cooked and we did good work to clean the dishes. if they have never had a Balkan planet, they go here and try one, but they go hungry! My husband's work held a dinner here and I'm so thankful because we'd never been. We ordered the Tomato and Mozzarella appetizer followed by the dinner for two. I couldn't believe the amount of food that came. Every bit of it was delicious. We then...couldn't resist ordering the pancakes with chocolate and ice cream, which didn't disappoint. With a party of 25, the service was perfection. Our glasses were never empty and the multiple waiters were friendly and efficient. We certainly will return there's more to try on the menu! Been to the restaurant quite a few times actually! A really friendly staff, great food and a great atmosphere. Usally we start with a fresh salmon salad or a soup. In the meantime we have a small talk with someone of the staff. 2 minutes...later, our first dish came through. Fast, and great! After that the main dish. On the menu, there's a 2-person meat dish. But we asked for a 3 person, and that wasn't a problem at all! The main dish came really fast to us. Not undercooked, nog soggy. Not overcooked. Perfectly balanced meat, rice and fries. I first went to the Dalmacija in 1999 when stationed at RAF Bruggen for a leaving do. My wife I used to go all the time became firm friends with the owners staff. On leaving Germany it was 7 years before we...got back to visit the Dalmacija. Within minutes of entering it was like we had never been away. We ordered the Balkan Platter for 2 it was very bit as tasty filling as the first time we had one. The flavours make the mouth water just thinking about it. We never did get the recipe for the hot schnapps though.
I used to visit this restaurant regularly between 1986 and 1990 and on a short holiday to Germany we decided to revisit the restaurant again. It is as wonderful now as it always was. The owners, a super family, are all so welcoming and friendly...and ensure you have a wonderful evening. The food is outstanding with portions that are a challenge for any man!! I absolutely loved going back and would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone.
Food was good and the service very fast and friendly. I had a strip steak and filled vegetables, both prepared well and ample quantity. I would have rated this a 4-star if it accepted credit cards, which it didn't. I'm OK with that at Peter Lugar's in NYC, but not so much at the Dalmacija Grill. If it said that on the site and I missed it, I apologize. That would be my fault and I would re-rate.
super meal and wonderful service we have made a reservation, but we have been delayed. restaurant really understands a beautiful table. menu available with English version. we had filet of bark and gambas we ended with warm cherry with ice and irish coffee. well prepared and fine portions. the weeping was beautiful and all great worth. We were at this restaurant a couple of weeks ago. Their menu is quite extensive. I had a chicken breast dish and it was really good. My guy had a grill teller which was huge! They have a great following and sometimes it is hard...to find a parking spot. Staff is friendly and attentive. Will return for sure.
