eckstein was about the most lively pub we visited on our two-day trip to heidelberg and was one of the best pubs we visited when we were in this beautiful city. we had just left billy blues bar/club and after a five-minute walk we decided to go here and have a few beers. a great interieur with a neat living in interior spaces with many bier-related characters and objects decorating the walls of this great pub. very lively here with a real pub feel at it 'a pub I would have been all night and enjoyed the lively atmosphere. when we got a place at the main entrance and ordered a few pints from heidelberger pilgern, which were in excellent condition and at a reasonable price. the staff was excel...

we had a great Friday night and met some of the big taverns and pubs in this beautiful city when we decided to dive here for a few beers. in this pub was really about a great atmosphere. we. ordered a pint of every heidelberger piks beer and simply sucked in the cool mood here. the pub itself is fantastic with a great pubby look to it with beautiful furniture and an eclectic sortiment of bric a brac decorate the wall. the music here was great with a big rock anthem. we enjoyed our beer here so much that we decided to stay for another pint of the heidelberger pilger and again this delicious beer in top condition was served in this very busy and popular pub. we moved on after a few points and...

We loved this place. Went there with my wife, who was unconvinced and her friend who loves heavy metal as do I! Her husband declined the offer to finish off the evening in a metal bar and went back to the hotel. His Loss. The...metal was banging, the beers were cold, the Jager was colder and the DJ was superb. With a multicoloured mane and different coloured beard and side burns he lept on the tables headbanging and keeping it real. Once he heard we were Irish he played Rory Gallagher for us as well as Thin Lizzy. The ladies had a ball as did I. I will return.

the pubs are not difficult to find in heidelberg, especially in the lower road, but this is surely a great choice. beautiful decor, a very helpful staff and a good beer menu (for good prices.)
