Garwah Chinese Cafe

As a take away the Gar Wah offers good food. The portion size is large, the prices average, and the quality is good. For dining in, it is a bit poor. There are no plates, just take away containers, and the cutlery is a small serviette and a plastic fork. OK for take away, as you have better at home. I chose a Sweet and Sour Fish. the fish was battered and deep fried. This presented some problems as the batter became glazed and the tines on the plastic fork threatened to break with each piece I picked up. The decor is tired and looked grubby in paces. It may have just been wear.

As a local this place is conveniently at the end of my street, but that's not why we go its cheap and very tasty. For added convenience they make lunch and dinner packs where the rice and meat is in the one container and they sell it with a drink for about $8. We've tried various soups and meals all great.

My wife is a fan of this place and we have visited 5 or 6 times. the price is right and the food is good. overall is a typical take away Chinese food which are not that common in this neighbourhood.

After twenty six years the place has changed hands. Don’t worry; still great quality, bigger portions; although more lemon sauce needed on lemon chicken. Still value for money.

Lovely authentic chinese food loved it and reasonably priced. The owners were lovely and very helpful would recommend if your staying in the Coburg area.
