I absolutely adore the fried chicken and sweet tea at this place the prices are fair and the portions are generous. The down home country flavors really shine through, making it a clear favorite for me. Despite the current takeout only situation, the food remains absolutely delectable with a wide variety of options like fried fish, collard greens, and sweet potato pie that bring back fond memories of dining here with my grandparents.

This place is always going to be home to me.I enjoy everytime I stop by.I worked here for right at 20 years and it was a good 20.It made me the man I am today.It is like going back in time.The food is good as always.Stop by if you are every in the area.

chicken is delicious but the pie (sweet potato) is superb, love just taking a relaxing drive from VA to NC to visit my Daddys hometown of Ahoskie and I won't leave until I visit GS its worth the trip!

Last l was there waited 20 minutes fish sandwich was hot hot neither were the fries so disappoint

I went back home and had to stop in. That perch was so good. I love perch fried hard
