We were eight for afternoon tea which was not up to scratch at all. Taken to a separate room in the building which was fine ... even though the glaring limited edition print of Sir Alex Douglas Hume on the wall provided some merriment ... but proved a let-down when came the tea in about four different pots, all under temperature. The girls who served were having a bit of a struggle with the service side of things and the cakes and sausage rolls were some tasty, some awful. The scones were actually good. My husband and I visited here on Monday 7th June for the Royal Afternoon Tea as a birthday treat. We ate in the orangery which was beautiful as is the terrace and surrounding gardens. Unfortunately the service was very slow, good job we were not in a hurry. No hot water provided with the pot of tea and had to wait ages to request more milk, etc. We were a little disappointed, especially at a cost of £35 per person. I was very glad that I had a voucher for a 50% discount.

Stayed recently for a wedding. The setting is stunning and gardens beautiful. Staff very helpful and welcoming at all times. Not a massive breakfast menu but enough to satisfy and well made. Dinner was also very good

We opted for the 10 course meal with wine pairing. There were some fantastic flavours within the dishes and the wine for each course complimented it very well. The breakfast was excellent and plenty of choice.
