"The manager here is so rude whilst the rest of the staff seem terrified by her! This was my last meal in Sydney and I felt she ruined my last day with her rude aggressive curt words. The breakfast was average. You'll be lucky to get a coffee delivered. Beautiful location but don't bother."

This visit was a for a quick coffee and business meeting on a grey, damp afternoon. Gusto started life as a delicatessen, but has grown to become one of two perennial standouts of Five Ways in Paddington, just down from Oxford Street. There is limited seating inside, but a more extensive number of tables outside. Both the rug and the ample umbrellas stopped my colleague and I from getting wet, and the coffee arrived promptly after counter ordering. It was just abit cooler than I would have liked but my colleague was very happy with the termperature and quality of their Laté. The food, which we did not sample on this occasion, has always been good. Given the more recent competition from Thoma...

The most disgusting lasagna I've ever eaten. The presentation was a mess, but absolutely forgiven if the rest had been good. But it was not. The salad was days old, the pasta would have been heated many times because it was black, hard and dry. There was no béchamel, it was now solid and cream in colour. Meat would have been OK days before but not today. We live close by and would love to have seen this restaurant lift its game now that its moved. Didn't tell the staff because I don't think they have any power to get it right. Owners should take note, lovely new venue, but it will fail if the food standard doesn't improve.

An enigma as to why this place is still busy with people! The service is ridiculous. Everything I tried to order from the menu I was told wasn't available, and was then told just to order from what I could see on display. Why bother having a menu then? The food was below average and a waste of money. We left to go next door which has great service, food and a fun atmosphere! I certainly won't be back.

I recently went to Gusto for lunch. I ordered a lasagna and wine. The food was seriously bad. The meat was very fine and over all the lasagna was tasteless and bland. The wine was very sweet and consequently I wasted about $24 as neither of them were edible/drinkable.Would not recommend this restaurant and there are several others in the area that I would advise people to go to.
