Local knowledge is a big plus and as I was staying with my brother who lives here in Noosa He knew actually where to take us for a casual feed on a Saturday night, a couple of his mates tagged along which made the night...a lot more fun. set in an old Queenslander style building behind the main shopping street up a hilly driveway you find this great little place atmosphere was really good. All orders are given at the bar and food service area although menus are supplied to your table. Was intrigued by the very high ratings given to the Bistro at Halse Lodge so decided to give it a try. Very few people eating on the Wednesday night we visited. While the prices were a bit cheaper than on Hastings Street they weren't particularly...cheap. Mains from about to This might explain why so few people eating. There are full service restaurants in Noosaville with comparable prices. The food was ok but nothing special. A glass of ok house wine was Pint of beer It seemed a bit run down. Lacking in atmosphere. Better options available not too far away. Wouldn't go back.

Halse Lodge hostel was nice. The staff were alright. Our dorm was clean and fairly spacious. Small lockers available. The shared bathrooms were decent. Could do with cleans throughout the day as the showers get messy from peoples beach trips. The bar and restaurant...downstairs closed so early (around The hostel is in a good location- close to all bars and restaurants and minutes from the beach.

The hostel is very clean!! And its location is excellent!! It can be loud if you want to sleep early because the walls are thin. I would recommend staying here!!

You can always rely on Halse Lodge for value food and drinks. There's a wonderful ambiance to this place and the Noosa holiday crowd rarely go there.
