Das Maifeld - ein Lokal, das man meiden sollte. Nachdem ich mich zu meiner Freundin an den Tisch setzte wurde ich erst mal nicht beachtet. Ich fragte nach der Karte. Ich bekam sie aber niemand fragte danach ob ich etwas trinken möchte. Ich fragte nach und durfte etwas bestellen. Es kam aber nichts. Weitere Nachfrage. 15 min für eine Fassbrause. Ok kann passieren. Ich hatte Hunger aber wieder kam niemand. Ich fragte wieder nach, musste noch mal warten und durfte etwas bestellen. 45 min später: alle um mich herum haben ihr Essen. Nur ich bin hungrig. Sehr hungrig. Erneute Nachfrage bei der fast unauffindbaren Bedienung. Resultat: Essen wurde nie eingebucht. Alles umsonst. Nach weiteren 15 min...
Dort angekommen suchten wir uns ein nettes Plätzchen draußen in der Hauffstr. und nach kurzer Zeit kam die sehr freundliche Bedienung zu uns, fragte, ob wir auch etwas essen wollen und reichte uns die Speisekarten. Ich wählte Gefüllte Hähnchenbrust mit Süßkartoffelpürree, Broccoli und leichter Currysoße. Die Füllung der Hähnchenbrust "Kräuterricotta" war etwas undefinierbar (ich vermute, dass dort Brot od. Quinoa dabei war), Süßkartoffel und Currysoße haben sehr gut geschmeckt! Für 2 Hauptgerichte und 4 Softdrinks zahlten wir 37 Euro. Empfehlenswert.
I lived right around the corner from this place for years. There are a lot of very well known restaurants in Cologne but this was probably my favorite. It is in a nice part of Cologne, it has really good food, the prices are good and the staff is friendly. You feel comfortable and welcome when you are there. As an extra piece of trivia they sometimes film scenes from the show German show Pastewka here and in the surrounding area.
The place is nice to sit and maybe have a drink, but the food quality is poor: 2 medium steaks ordered one was good and the other well done and tasteless, asperge was too old and I just don't think you should add salat on a warm dish as garnish. Service was weak and not very attentive. Shame, as I remembered the place being better.
