O'vineyards Carcassonne

14 of us made our way to the Carcassonne area from the US the first week of July. We stayed at La Maison in Vilegailhenc and on the first night of our stay we decided to do a wine tour, tasting and dinner at O'Vineyards. VERDICT: THIS WAS THE BEST MEAL WE HAD OUT OUR ENTIRE STAY. When we arrived at the vineyard we were met by Joe who gave us a tour of the property which was lovely and also learn about their wines, and taste from the barrel. Afterwards we were brought back in to the main area for dinner. (Note: we were there during the first of the two heatwaves this summer so we ate inside instead of melting outside I can't even put into words how wonderful this meal was! Liz, owner and chef...

Wow! What a special evening. First, Joe took us on an informative and entertaining wine tour. He is so knowledgeable about wine making and we learned so much. He even let us turned the spigot on a huge wine tank and pour our own gasses of maturing wine. So cool! Then we sat down at the family dinner table, where we were treated to an unforgettable meal prepared by Liz. She is a beautiful person and a marvelous cook. Of course, we were fortunate to be included in a family celebration that night and hit the jackpot. Lors d'un road trip à travers la France pour visiter différents vignobles, nous avons décidé de réserver une nuit qui incluait également une dégustation de vin dès notre arrivée, une visite du vignoble, un repas complet et un hébergement pour la nuit. Un si large éventail d'expériences nous a permis d'apprécier pleinement les vins fins (et les variétés de raisins rares) qui nous ont été proposés. Depuis notre arrivée jusqu'à notre départ, ce fut une expérience de première classe. Nos hôtes étaient tellement amicaux, compétents et accueillants. C'était une expérience vraiment indulgente. Je ne peux que recommander cet endroit chaudement. J'aimerais beaucoup y retourner un jour.

Nous avons été invités à rejoindre un ami (que nous n'avions pas vu depuis de nombreuses années et qui était de passage dans la région) pour une soirée chez O'Vineyards. Étant à seulement une demi-heure de là, c'était un cadre idéal pour rattraper le temps perdu avec lui, faire une merveilleuse visite de la propriété avec Joe et passer un agréable moment à la table de Liz, où nous avons dégusté de délicieux plats bien préparés qui ont rendu notre expérience des vins encore plus agréable. Nous vous remercions pour votre hospitalité et vos soins chaleureux et amicaux pendant notre séjour chez vous. Et nous avons beaucoup ri ! Réservez une table maintenant

While staying at O’Vineyards B&B, we did the wine tour and tasting and then dined with Liz and Joe, the proprietors. We were the only guests that evening and had a wonderful time. Liz served us appetizers and then main courses of filet mignon and grilled duck breasts, with roasted potatoes and vegetables. Wine flowed constantly with Joe serving. We were stuffed but Liz served a lovely dessert and we consumed that as well. Then more wine. Wow! It was quite a feast and the hosts were absolutely delightful and engaging. I would give them a higher rating if I could!

I have visited many wineries, which included tours and tastings. This was by far the best tasting and tour I have ever had. We had a very informative tour and a more than generous tasting. After our tour, we had a delicious dinner. The courses seemed never ending, the food was superb. Everything was fresh and homemade. Prepared and served by the host and hostess. Definitely a five star evening. I can’t wait to visit again and next time I will add on an overnight stay in the B &B. This was an experience I would definitely recommend.

This was a birthday present from our wonderful children…. and what a splendid time we had Joe and Liz were marvellous hosts and we were treated to some amazing food and fabulous wines and great conversation. The setting was beautiful, the wine making tour was informative and Liz even booked the taxis for us (don’t even think about driving! Thank you for a wonderful time, we will be back with all the family soon!

This was by far one of the best nights out we’ve had. Went to the vineyard for a typical French night out with good food, turned out to be an amazing experience of generous wine tasting combined with delicious food that was made with love. Above all Liz Joe are the kindest people that make you want to stay there way longer! Definitely coming back again! Réservez une table maintenant

A great experience and Joe and Liz are such wonderful hosts. The wine tour and tasting was fun and informative and the food well why can I say fantastic. We were made to feel so welcome I would highly recommend a visit .

J'ai réservé l'expérience de dégustation de vin et c'était un excellent choix. Joe et Liz étaient des hôtes formidables. La nourriture et le vin étaient incroyables.
