Pleasant House Pub

One star missing only because of expense, which has gotten a bit pretentious since this is pub food, after all, not haute cuisine. But we love it and will keep going back. The curry pie is not a fave, it really needs to up its flavor profile and spicy complexity to be a true Indian/English fusion. But the CRUST of these pies is the standout--crunchy, warming and delicious in the mouth. Minty pease galore and their pretty-good (if overly starched) gravy round out the meal, with a nice glob of potato nearby. Came in after looking at a wedding venue nearby and a friend recommended it! Two seating areas, very pub style which we enjoyed. Got seated and waters right away. Heard their pies were the item to get so we got their brisket pie and a chicken sandwich to share. The brisket pie was my favorite of the two meat was very tender and perfectly seasoned! The pie dough was also super flaky. Chicken sandwich came with fries which were tasty it was just a tad hard to eat since we split it in two (chicken to bread ratio was off but in a good way). I'd definitely come back to try more of their pies!

the vegan cakes here are blown! the crust of the potcake is perfectly flocky and golden brown, while the inner is filled with delicious whole vegetable feed, which taste essentially like a one-pot. a cake is always vegan and African inspired, filled with zucchini, seasoned tomato sauce, sweet potato and more! there is also a rotating cake that is sometimes an extra vegan option. big plus from this place is that it is a pub, so they play the best football / football games! was such a great atmosphere to watch the euro cup

What an insurmountable place this pub is to be found. It is amazing, but how the interior can transform where you feel like you are. My team and I came here for lunch and the food was excellent. It was a hard choice for the meat cake to go against the chicken ktikka special. I went for the special and it wasn't disappointed. Now I have to come back and go for the meat cake. My only grip was that the service was a little slow.

I ordered the trip through DoorDash and the food was delicious! I had the steak and Ale Pier and my sister had the chicken balti cake. Both were very tasteful and the cake crust was super buttery. The potatoes were okay, but went well with the side of the severity.
