If you like menues away from mainstream but still with a touch to local cooking, if you are hungry like a wulf and prefer somewhat more of the good food on your plate, if you do not want to ruin your budget and want to...enjoy relaxed ambience this is your place. Fresh cooking, menu changes every month and guests may negotiate with the owners the composition of their dish just a nice place to go for dinner with good friends, family or even business partners. It is a family business, so be patient with the service, when the restaurant is occupied, they are really busy.
downstairs it is a cosy little bar with good cocktailes, a wide range of beer, wine and spirits from the Bodensee region. In summer you can enjoy sitting outside in an historical gate. Upstairs the Untertor is a restaurant with a seasonly changing menu. The...menu is never overcrowded so you can be sure that everything is fresh. The prices are more than fair, compared to the quality and the atmosphere. The staff is friendly at all times, makes you feel warmly welcomed in the venue.
We got a hint to go there. And i tell you it was great. The servants were very friendly and als us a lot what the could Do for us. We got different suggestions and t hey declared every detail. So we knew what we...could expect. But it was still Better. Fresh food, cooked to the point. All things vegetables meat and potatoes where perfekt. I can recomment this restaurant.
We went for dinner and we had a pleasant experience: the food tasted really good (all, fish and meat) and portions were quite big. The service has been really fast and the waiter kindly translated part of the menu into English to us. The only...drawback is that they do not accept credit cards and we discovered just in at the end we had to pay cash..
