Five or six weeks ago, I left a very negative review of this pub, after an unpleasant Sunday lunch visit with a friend. Having learned that the pub's management had been changed and that the improvements were quite notable, I decided to return today with the same friend. A remarkable change. Everything is scrubbed and clean. The bar floor has found its original old wood colour again. The toilets are impeccable. The restaurant is welcoming and cheerful. The staff are well trained, pleasant, focused on their service. There were some logs burning on the fire in the dining room. The service and ambiance were excellent at this restaurant, however, my main issue was with the food. I ordered the Pork special, which was very poor. The braised cabbage and parsnip purée were cold, and the potato gratin was too hard on top. The waitress mentioned that it was supposed to be like that. My wife had the shepherds pie, which was delicious, so I ended up swapping my dish for hers. Unfortunately, we ended up eating separately even though we came out together for dinner. The most frustrating part was that the manager did not address our concerns. It was disappointing as the other dishes on the menu looked appetizing.

This pub used to be our go-to spot, but we started exploring other options over the past few years. However, with the arrival of a new manager, we decided to give it another chance. We were pleasantly surprised by our experience. The restaurant was nearly full and had a great atmosphere, with new candles adding to the ambiance. The service was exceptional, with a special shout-out to Amena, who took care of us on her first night. Overall, it was a fantastic evening with delicious food and top-notch service.

This charming pub has a great selection of beer and a spacious garden area in the back. Although I haven't sampled the food yet, it looks very promising. The staff always greet you warmly.
