Slate Bleu - Réserver une table

The chef here clearly cares quite deeply for traditional french cooking. My neighborhood in Brooklyn is full of french staple brunch spots with the usual tasty but repetitive french dishes. Slate Bleu is not afraid to take their French dining experience to the next level, with deeply authentic dishes such as housemade Rabbit Paté, and Sautéed chicken liver. For the adventurous gourmand, their offerings are well worth the call ahead reservation. I have been here twice now. Been going here for years with my date and also with professional girlfriends and even brought friends from out of town. 9 out of 10x sat at the bar, had drinks, and always ate at the bar, occasionally at the table. Last week after the car show a girlfriend and I walk in, and there are 7 empty seats at the bar and multiple tables. The madame stops us from sitting at the bar, would not allow us to sit at the other bar seats either; told us we had to have a reservation to sit at the bar. Good meal last night. Great experience as a whole. Sound cooking, skate was perfect, and the dark chocolate orange ice cream, still grinning away. Enjoy a restaurant with kitchen/kitchen cooking so fundamental sound in our city. Service (Jared, I think I'm sorry if it's not, hope I'm at least close) was tops. Tending Bar, Orders, Food Run... The best French restaurant I had in my life. The server was very rude and if she had worked for me, I would have fired it on site! I was at least a dozen times in Paris and Slate Bleu would have closed within a week. If you want a great meal, go to Honey on Shewell Ave.

Wonderful local treasure in Doylestown! The food has a French flair, is always fresh, and if you have the chance eat at the bar. The Cocktails that they have created are truly hand crafter! I had the gnocchi, and will definitely have again.
