The French Brasserie

My hubby and I recently dined at The French Brasserie with friends for my birthday. The service was friendly and the food was absolutely delicious! We had the 5 course degustation - the French onion soup was very moreish, the Barramundi fillet and lamb rack very pleasant, with the Kingfish Tartare being voted as favourite course overall... of course the Chocolate Parfait was brilliant, so it can't be voted with the other courses. I was even given a mouth watering mini raspberry sorbet with a birthday candle to celebrate the occasion - so very sweet and unexpected.Although there are many stairs to climb for the bathrooms, the facilities are clean and neat.We plan to return sometime soon and l...

We very much enjoyed our dinner here. We started with the best French onion soup. Very rich and yummy. We also enjoyed the steak tartare entree. It was very mayonnaise-y but we still enjoyed it in small amounts as it was very rich. We found the service to be attentive and the wine delicious. Our group was talking among ourselves when we left and said that in any other location this would be a restaurant that we would frequent often. Unfortunately, Melbourne has an abundance of amazing places. Our group gave it a 7/10.

Fantastic meal with lovely flavours the only downside is they tried to charge us for three guests when we were only two. So please check the bill when you pay and yes it is extremely sad that I have to post this but feel I need to be honest to my fellow diners.

A very beautiful experience. Excellent service and a very interesting wine list. The food was also delicious and the service was very good! i'll definately come back!
