The Volunteer Canteen

The Volunteer, or "The Volly," is a tiny yet incredibly welcoming pub with a fantastic atmosphere and excellent beer. It's the perfect spot to enjoy the classic British pub experience. In the summer, they occasionally host delightful barbecues as well.

The Volly is an old style, excellent, traditional English Pub. Great beers, friendly service, even ordering while seating at a table. No jukebox, no TV, no piped music. A rare joy. Please don 't change.

The locals are wonderful, the beer is great, and it's dog-friendly. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that they don't have Theakston's Old Peculier, only the mild version. Réservez une table maintenant
