I have passed this lovely little restaurant in my neighbourhood many times. With its lower lighting and red and white checkered tablecloths and big image of Nonna on the wall it looked so inviting that I finally booked a table for end of the year date night with my husband. At first I thought I didn't like the music but it was just one loud song. The rest were softer and some were Italian to suit the decor. The place was packed so I was glad I made a reservation. Sofia our server was pleasant but obviously overwhelmed with how busy it was. Our appetizer plates were not cleared when our main dishes appeared and there was no follow up at all to see if everything was ok and to me this is a very important step when dining out. We had to keep waving to get attention to get water and then to clear our plates when we were done. I’m wondering if they would hire a “bus boy/girl” it would alleviate the servers business especially on their busy nights.

First time at this resturant it is small but that's ok we had reservations noticed they turned alot of people away.Staff was good but getting the food to our table was slow. Other people came in after us were served 10-15 minutes before us .In the end i was very happy with the food will visit again. The food was served very hot maybe that's why we had to wait because of small kitchen.But in the end worth it.

Trattoria Taverniti North is the sort of neighborhood pizza and pasta place you dream about. Friendly, lively without being noisy or chaotic, and the food is fabulous. Pizza like you haven’t had since you were last in Italy. A calzone the size of half a hubcap with tender pastry and really good cheese. Long- simmered tomato sauce. We will be back for sure! This restaurant is conveniently within walking distance for us. The food is consistently excellent, and the service is even better. It's a great value as well. We’ll definitely be back soon!
