There are lots of decent restaurants to choose from in Cap D'Agde but we reserve a special place for La Bonne Meré. Our family holiday is not complete until we've tasted the foie gras omelette, the lobster ravioli or sampled a dozen local oysters. Family run and with wonderful clifftop views over the Avant Port, if you're after something a bit special and are happy to spend a few extra euros then this little gem is not to be missed.Allez 2017!

Everything is prepared locally from fresh local products. The view on the sea is marvelous and you can eat outside or indoorsThe restaurant is apart from the noisy busy cafés & restaurants area.A must if you love good quality food in a calm and lovely atmosphere.

Food are homemade, beautiful food presentation. Spectacular view inside and outside. Good customer service, owner or manager speak perfect English so no problem about the food they serve, will explain fully. Better to make reservation in advance. Parking is close to the restaurant but have to be patient to wait an available place to park during peak summer time.

If you believe that the presentation of what you are about to eat has to conform to the highest standards of artistic research this restaurant will not rank highest in your estimation as each plate although presented professionally and attractively you will not find any extraneous decoration but your taste buds will be ravished. Each of us was more than pleased with their choice of entrée, main and desert. All were deliciously prepared with fresh local products. The choice of wines is extensive. The Pluma de cochon ibérique is extraordinary, the creme caramel was one of the best I have ever tasted (it is my favorite desert). Reserving is a must if you wish to savor the pleasure of sitting several feet above the beach with a fantastic view over the sea, on a very clear day stretching to the Spanish coast as far as Cap Creus. A must.

Although the outside tables overlook the sea directly, there is still a good view from inside. As last year, we had an excellent lunch. Fabulous aioli, not that dreadful supermarket stuff. Even the fish soup is home made, with a deeper flavour than usual. It one of those French places where you settle down to a proper French lunch knowing it will be good. The staff may be friendlier to actual customers than they are beforehand- they may be bored with people asking to sit outside and eat pizza. Our dog was welcomed and given a bowl of water without our asking. Not the cheapest place in town, but very satisfying.

The first page of the menu describes the professional career of the chef. There is a notice at the entrance saying "We do not serve chips, mussels or pizza. Everything here is home made except the caviar". Obviously, this is all about one man. The view over the sea is ideal. Food excellent in its style. Pistachio ice cream to die for. The perfect creme brûlée. Several immense prawns with real herb mayonnaise for the starter, good value. I haven't compared the cost with other local restaurants of the non pizza type - it might be an expensive town- but I would come here again next time I am in Cap Agde.
