Just home from a very special evening at La Bistouille. Only in Amiens for one night on the way back to the UK and this place was recommended by our hotel. A very happy buzz about this pretty place by the river. Superbly warm service by Eddie. This is the kind of experience that makes you fall in love with Amiens and France. Excellent and delicious French food with a nice local twist. A real joy and well priced, especially the menu du jour. Thanks, Eddie. Wish we could come back more often

Well I'm 64 years old and have just experienced the worst meal of my life. If you like super salty meals this is the place to go. I think I was having a pork curry but basically it was some super hot rice with salt sauce and four small square pieces of pork that were a lot cooler than the rice. Sent 95 % of it back but unfortunately was still expected to pay for it. Maybe I was just unlucky.

Been before, great food , amazing atmosphere. Mind numbing cocktails. Prices all reasonable. Many local speciality dishes. Lovely situation over looking the historic River Somme. Great place to people watch, lots of musicians and artists. Many impromptu performances at the weekend

Located on the bank of the river Somme in the centre of town. Relaxed ambience and very welcoming staff. We sat in the outside salon that was well heated and waterproof!Great choice of food that was well explained with some witty banter. All of the food was well prepared, tasty and in large portions - possibly too large! Value was very fair.Recommended

Found this gem of a restaraunt in a very closed Amiens (first two weeks of January N France is closed.)! Liked the choices of the plat du jour and so stayed to eat. Advised well on a very nice pitcher of house white. A very cold night so we went indoors for warmth though most clientele stayed outside in the winter lean-too. Prompt and attentive service with a very friendly smile and good advice, and we had mussels, duck and a fish dish, all to an excellent standard and considered good value for money. We had Fromage Blanc as a dessert and rounded off the evening with a very nice Calvados.

The restaurant was busy, always a good sign and we were quickly seated. Being English with very poor French I was hoping for a English menu or some help understanding the menu and dishes that were written on the windows of teh restaurant. The waiter was a little brash and just pointed but didn't try and help, thank goodness for Google Translate we managed to order a Steak on some mashed vegtables. Very enjoyable and good value. The atmosphere was nice and busy maybe that is why we wernt given the attention I would have hoped for. Reccomeneded all the same.

We are here earlier in the year and were keen to revisit . The restaurant is in the promenade overlooking the Somme river . A trendy area. The food is fantastic, very French but different. We had delicious starters of razor clams and escargots . Delicious! Mains were roast pork, steaks and local stews. Again great. What really makes this place is the atmosphere , very funky. Customers mostly locals and many musicians. We are on a Saturday and there was live music from a great guitarist and two lady singers who switched easily between soft jazz ,Piaf , Bob Marley, Bob Dylan and more . They were frequently joined by very accomplished artists also eating there. In conversation with a local he offered that La Bistouille is the heart of the music scene in Amiens. That is easy to believe. The charming lady owner is very visible and her staff are very personable , funny and welcoming.Again the food is great, their own Calvados based cocktail slips down far too easily and is dangerous . If in Amiens don't miss this opportunity. We ended up dancing by the river with Madam and joining in the choruses .We had a fantastic evening of food and entertainment the memory of which will stay with us till our next visit. A big thank you to all . If only eating out could always be this much fun

Went here by instinct and no there reason, because there is a lot of choice within a hundred yards. I trust it occasionally and this time it definitely paid off. It was a lunchtime visit. Great menu and what are a lot of clearly locally sourced ingredients. I do recommend the moules - and the menu du jour at (as I remember) €19.00 The service is good-humoured and very friendly - it is the sort of place you feel at home at.
