We randomly walked in to this restaurant after taking a long walk around the city to find a place to hve a dinner. Luckily I had a chance to experience a cosy night with amazing food n pleasant chef here. We had huitre, beef stew, beef tongue for the dinner. Beef tongue was a recommend dish from the chef n it makes us an unforgettable memory. I would love to come back one more time.

We really wanted to to like this place. It was our last night in Luberon and we were eager to have a great parting meal. This restaurant seemed to fit the bill with great reviews on TA and our B&B host also recommending it.I had the 1/2 pheasant with cabbage. It came out over cooked and without flavor. My wife ordered lamb which was marginally better as it had some semblance of flavor but it was accompanied with what looked and tasted like frozen vegetables. While we were struggling to get through dinner the chef came out several times to chat with guests and get a refill from the bar. Maybe this explains the poor quality of the food? The only redeeming features was the cheap house wine and the pleasant waitress.

Hotel Saint Anne highly recommended this restaurant and indeed the cuisine and the chef were so pleasant and brought us a wonderful night. The fish was definitely the gourmet made of chef's love. It was so fresh and juicy. It might be one of the most delicious fish dishes we have ever had in the world. Jacky was so friendly and this absolutely makes his restaurant unique and outstanding. Hope that I can visit this restaurant again.

As a traveller you occasionally come across a wonderful experience when you least expect it. The Provencal town of Apt is known throughout France for its traditional and authentic Saturday market. But of course, like most of country France, everything closes at midday. The hunt for a lunch location was on! Wandering down a small street, in this ancient Roman town, we came across this restaurant with a very plane exterior. But the menu was sumptuous. Being winter we both had two styles of sanglier or wild boar. Both dishes beautifully prepared complimented by French winter vegetables. At the end Jacky, the owner/chef joined us to see if we enjoyed the meal. After coffee he provided complimentary limoncello. Not only a great chef but also a real character. If you are ever in Apt, don't let this one pass you by. Real French food in a traditional French restaurant. Another 10 years and quality and style like this will be gone forever!

Apt is not a very prepossessing place--it's downright ugly, in fact--but you might find yourself there while visiting the well-known and picturesque villages in the Luberon, or staying in a nearby bed-and-breakfast. If so, seek out La Galtiere, known to Apt locals for a warm welcome and very good food, yielding an excellent rapport qualite/prix. Jacky the check likes to drink, to talk, and above all the cook--get him going and he'll tell you all about himself and his establishment. Without or without him, enjoy his food: we enjoyed his guinea-hen with wild mushrooms, his stuffed mussels, his pheasant with cabbage. The cooking is delightfully traditional--no surprises apart from high quality combined with good value. The wine list is entirely local and very reliable (Coteaux d'Aix, Cotes du Ventoux, Cotes du Luberon).

This is a great little hole in the wall - genuine, delicious, generous and warm service - even as a tourist they make you feel at home. The down side is it would be easy to miss, and I'm sure because of its unassuming, simple decor, it's been dismissed by people walking by...don't judge this book by its cover! The food is fantastic and great value - with local produce that's super fresh bursting with flavor and expertly prepared.Would certainly go back if I'm lucky enough to be here again.

We were welcomed with open arms by both the friendly waitress and chef. They couldn't do enough to help us understand the finer details of the menu in English, and to find us a cool table in the middle of the heat wave. Service was fast and drinks came quickly. And as for the food.... heavenly! Over the two nights we had a selection of fish and meat dishes, plus entrees and a dessert. Everything was beautifully cooked and delicious. Lip smackingly so - that's why we went back for a second night! The cuisine is good solid french Provencal food, cooked by someone who obviously knows their trade. I wish I was there now.... Definitely recommended.
