Value for money is important when eating out, irrespective of the actual cost. Too many meals are spoiled by the excessive price for indifferent wines. This is where this place scores well. Inventive local cuisine from an albeit small choice, with local wines en carafe at rock bottom prices. Shame it was almost empty when visited, and the lighting is too bright. Alors, as they say!!
We had a very good meal here. My husband is celiac and the restaurant went out of it's way to serve him food without wheat or gluten. We both had good food at a fair price. Local wines were explained and the service was both efficient and thoughtful. This is a restaurant that presents good food for a fair price.
If you're looking for good food with little fuss, this is a fine choice. The service is friendly and efficient and the dishes are well prepared. Our party of three enjoyed trout fillets with a mix of seasonal greens, a few glasses of some very pleasant local wines and perfect ice creams to finish.
Me and my wife went here on Saturday night and took the menu formula (3 courses for 23.5€).All the dishes were very good, in particular, we enjoyed the wild mushrooms entrée, the fish and sea products main course and the black currant sorbet.good atmosphere and nice music. keep in mind no English menu nor does the waitress understand it.
As another reviewer hinted, Arbois is busy, we tried restaurants at on a Saturday, another were closed, all claimed to be fully booked(although empty when we walked in). So we're lucky to have got the last table here,fortunately we were as...the x fours who tried in front didn't get in. The food is simple but very tasty. The beef carpacio was excellent, and the forest mushrooms the best of the trip. We then had the Comte cheese
