We cycled along the Rhone-Rhine and Colmar Canals from Strasbourg to Colmar. We hoped to find a place to stop and eat along the way but I was not willing to detour even a short distance from the canal paths into the villages. Fortunately I stuck with the plan and eventually we came across La Coccinelle - a very scenic cafe right on the canal near Artzenheim. We had tea, coffee, beer and a delicious apricot tart in a lovely outdoor area - a fantastic find. Had I known about this cafe I would have set out a little earlier from Strasbourg and maybe booked ahead to have lunch here. The restaurant area was pretty and ambient and the menu looked good. The cafe appeared to be run by a couple who where spot on and going by our experience one got the feeling that anything you had at this cafe would be good.

A very charming restaurant/tea house at the intersection of the bike route along the Rhine-Rhone canal and the D3 run by a lovely couple. We stopped twice during a one-week stay biking in the area and enjoyed excellent food and service. The outdoor terrace is light and airy, perfect for a summer or early autumn day. The indoor seating room is decorated in the old Alsace style - reminds me a bit of old Holland, too - lots of blue on white cross-stitched table cloths and tasteful decorations. Location (especially if you're biking), service and a tantalizing menu all beckon. Highly recommended.

We ate our lunch after a long rowing trip..Although we were a big group, they surved very quicky their delicious disches designed like an art piece...I think if you reserve early..They can manage very big groups...The surrounding is fantastic...warm and cousy .decoration and friendly staff..I recommend their pies.

We came along the waterways, and just as the craving for beer increased, this cafe appeared. Pleasant and attentive owner who convinced to also have a coffee and som sweet cake. I wish there was such a place close to my home!
