The first thing that strikes you is this is a little piece of Paris in South West France. You are welcomed as you should be. The service is excellent. But it's all about the food. And that does not disappoint. But save some room for dessert. Always freshly made that day by the propritoress. Great.Cheers. This is a lunch time venue.
My wife & I totally love this superb little restaurant.The owners have been in the business for over 30 years and know exactly how to make the customer enjoy a good lunch. You need to book your table. This place is without doubt our favourite lunchtime restaurant. Very warm welcome & jolly folk.Relaxing French jazz softly playing over the speakers. HUGO & SUSANNE EVANS
Taken here by friends who had already eaten here and we were very glad they did !You need to reserve a table as the lunchtime session ( no dinner service ) is usually well booked up and the local French obviously rate the place which is excellent publicity as ever !Run by a very friendly couple and all food is freshly prepared ...the interior does remind you of a Parisian style bistro but with heaps more personal service and attention to detail...assorted artwork and black and white photos on the walls give an intimate feeling.Menu arrives on a small portable board and consists of fresh home made tartes like salmon and prawns or goats cheese and are enormous so no need to have starters and main course...main dishes were either lamb shank or cannelloni with vegetables and a green salad and were delicious....for dessert, another wonderful choice of home made patisserie...chocolate variations, apple tarts or lemon meringue and again, a very generous portion ! All this offered at 14 euros a head including coffee plus whatever drinks on top.Well worth seeking this place out and thus avoiding the more touristy venues around the cathedral square area.
This is a lunchtime only venue, which is family run, and the staff couldn't be more accommodating. The decor and ambience is very endearing. There is a limited choice for the fixed price menu of 13.50 E , but always a choice of fish or meat. Good quality home cooking, with interesting desserts. There is a very drinkable ,reasonably priced house wine. Worth a visit if you are in the area, but reservation required as seating is limited and often full.
we visited this restaurant last year and have not been back since, we cannot understand why it was as good as we remembered. his very parisienne and run from a beautiful couple who take great pride in preparing fresh food. we had the homemade cannelloni that was enormous and the homemade desserts for dying! a word of warning they need to book lunches, as it is only small and very popular.
