Contrary to other opinions, I'm afraid our experience of this restaurant was, overall, a negative one... The interior of the venue is very nicely designed. Classic French style, with attention to detail. Would be nice to see as much attention to the outside seating area - perhaps some flowers? Or ornaments to compliment the interior..? The first waitress serving our table couldn't be faulted. Very professional, kind and polite, complete polar opposite to the other waitress, who was abrupt and quite frankly, rude. This impacted my experience as I found myself having to assert in an abrupt fashion to match hers (!) that vegetarianism doesn't mean you eat fish. I was also talked over the top of when trying to make my food order - which was taken incorrectly, but it was the first waitress who came over and apologised... not the one who made the mistake! The mushroom risotto (which I didn't order) was very heavy, buttery and greasy and lacked any real flavour. The tuna steak was a little well done and the vegetables that went with it were very oily. We noticed a lot of English customers and tend to think that it is a bit of a tourist trap... perhaps this why the waitress feels she can be rude, as customers are unlikely to return. Who knows. I think there are probably much better places to eat if one looks around the area....

Located with other restaurants to each side, this one appeared to be the best for an impromptu lunch, with an attractive outside eating area in the old part of BergeracMy wife and I were delighted with the quality, quantity and presentation of our set lunch menu (24€ for 3 courses)There was no surcharge (as too often the case) for a generous portion of fois gras, which was beautifully presented with accompanying soft fruits.Steak tartare was excellent and whilst the accompany chips visually were not as I would have wished for the taste and texture were very good, so no moan here.A truffle risotto was taken past me to another table and the smell was so good on my next visit I will try this dish if available. The strawberry dessert choice ended the meal perfectly. Service was friendly and attentive without being intrusive and the house "rose" was more than acceptable.

We had lunch here with friends & all were very pleased with our choices from the lunchtime menu. The restaurant itself is tastefully furnished & comfortable. Waiting staff efficient and helpful. There was a good and imaginative choice on the menu & the food itself lived up to the descriptions, beautifully presented, well cooked & very tasty. We drank the house rose & found it very good. An excellent meal f and very good value for money. We'' certainly go again next time we're in Bergerac and would certainly recommend it.r
