This wine bar is a bit out of the way, roughly 10 minutes by car (and another 15 to try to find parking). However, it was definitely worth the trek for the very personable and unique experience. This is, first and foremost, a wine bar. The concept is quite cool: you are given a card and are allowed to select from 16 different bottles of wine, similar to a vending machine. You can opt for a taste, half glass, or full glass of any of the wines available (bottles of a variety of other wines were also readily available).Caution: you can spend a lot quite quickly as you sample different bottles (priced from about 1.30 to 5.50 for a taste (3oz)). As you settle in to the fantastic old wine cellar, you can quickly move through a fair number of glasses without realizing it.The service was fantastic. We were there at a slowly time, roughly 9:30pm on a Saturday, and got the full attention of the staff, offering explanations as well as recommendations. The food was pretty good, though it is small portions (wine bar food). Unique take on some small finger foods included "faux tapas" and "faux sushi". The terrine of homemade foie gras was fantastic and should not be missed. I wish we had started the evening here with dinner plans to follow, or concluded the evening after a meal. I also wish it was a bit closer to town, but worth driving out (or catching a cab) if you want a non touristy and fun experience.
