We stopped in Brousse le Chateau for lunch, as we had been exploring the Vallee du Tarn and this was about half way through our day's journey. The village is one of the "Plus Beaux Villages" of France and quite charming. For a part of France which, although very beautiful, is not that well known to tourists, it was a lovely surprise to find a logis, as they are always dependable. This one was no exception, however we had had a large breakfast and none of us was particularly hungry, so we all had a light lunch, in spite of the tempting menu. We all started off with a very tasty soup followed by equally tasty and perfectly cooked omelettes. We all finished our meal with a slice of apricot tart, but this was disappointing as the pastry base was very hard.

The food is very good and generous portions. Nice dining room and lovely outside Terrace underneath the castle and next to the river

Spectacular village with the Relay the only restaurant. One might expect non-competition to effect the restaurant so very pleased to find that the standards of food, service and prices were all good. Wish we had had the house dessert but were replete with entree and main course.

We spent all morning walking around Brousse le chateau taking photos then decided to stay for lunch. Even though this is the only place to eat , tourists are not exploited, very good value for money. We were initially disappointed that only snacks are served on the terrace but the restaurant inside was delightful. Modern clean setting and well presented food with good service. We would definitely recommended eating here

We ate here earlier in the week after a couple of hours exploring the beautiful village of Brousse-le-Chateau. The food and service was fantastic. Simple French cooking at its best using local ingredients.I had black pudding to start with and the portion was very generous! For my main I had the best veal I have ever had. The cut was lean and served medium rare. We didn't realise it was a four course menu so we left absolutely stuffed. The staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. Things are pretty quiet in this area outside of French holidays so if you are travelling at a similar time it is probably worth ringing ahead and booking a table.

This is a remote part of France and a tiny charming village. In all our trips to France this has been the best overall experience of a rustic atmosphere and good local food. We traveled from California to stay and eat here again. Everything is delicious...the only advice: skip lunch so you can truly enjoy all the courses they offer.
