After driving from the UK, we were pretty shattered and looking for somewhere for an early dinner (6pm) before staying overnight. I had read reviews on this place before leaving so thought we would try it.Very easy to find, right facing the National Police coastguard building. Loads of free parking. We were greeted by the owner who immediately asked if we spoke French. I explained I know very little French, so he said "no problem" and got us the menu. The menu was in French, as you would expect, but had the English translation beneath each item. We were the only people in the place, and the owner was both cooking and waiting on tables.The menu is typically French, with an emphasis on fresh seafood and steaks. My wife chose to have a warm goats cheese salad, and I chose the rump steak with a peppercorn sauce. All ingredients were fresh and cooked to perfection. The steak was a delight and the portion size was incredible. For dessert, my wife had crepe and I had ice cream. Again, superb quality.The meal was rounded off with a large, local beer and a couple of glasses of wine.the bill came to just 44 EuroBy the time we left at about 7.30pm, the place was buzzing. The owner was sat outside enjoying a beer with friends, a barman was busy serving drinks and chef was cooking and a young lady was waiting on the tables.The owner was very attentive and very polite. A great ambassador for the restaurant. We are planning another short trip before Christmas, and Le Petit Baigneur is definitely top of our list for dinner
Great value & v.friendly staff-menu in english/owner Yohann & son Nathan speak good english/scottish(ask them why)Looks like a "Beach Cafe" but as well as fantastic value fast food, if you choose from set menus you will be blown -away witth quality & quantity!A good indication is the amount of French people using it
This is the 3rd time we have eaten here. Each time the man guy was lovely to us and we spoke not a word of French. The food was fast, hot and fantastic. I had the Reine pizza the first time and the last and the steak the other time. Very tasty and cooked to perfection. Mum had the 4 cheese pizza every time because it is so good. The man guy / didn't catch his name sorry, but he is worth going for even more than the food. What a lovely man. We've loved eating here and will again and again on every visit.
Really fast and friendly service! Two big lads 6ft5 just about managed 2 pizzas and chips! Very full at the end, I would recommend this to people after something prompt and good quality. Johan, is the main man, I think that's how you spell it haha sorry if not! But yeah big thankyou to the team
Great placeIf you are close to La Plage for any reason, and looking for a great steak and chips, this is for you! It's great for families as there is a large park right outside. Fantastic, caring people running the place. Big portions! If you are HUNGRY, this is definitely the place to come. My 6 foot 2 son couldn't finish the steak it was so big! Moules are offered in various yummy sauces.
