After a long day driving arrived in Cap Breton purely by chance on Tuesday 12 July 2017 and what an amazing find! Great surf, fantastic beachside stopover and the amazingly chilled Soweto Shack. After a surf, we watched the sun set over the Atlantic with a few G&Ts and an hour or so later, we decided we needed some food. The girls wandered up to find out what time Soweto finished serving and were told 11am. So at 10:30pm we wandered up and were greeted by the most approachable and friendly staff, local craft beers and wine and the most amazing made-to-order pizzas. The pizzas were excellent, the staff couldn't do enough and after quite a few local lagers, bottles of wine and coffees, we left at 12:30am. We weren't rushed at all and had some great conversations with the guys about the area and local produce. A beach shack on top of the dunes, with the sand under your feet, chilled tunes playing and the roar of the Atlantic in the background, it was the most perfect way to spend an evening and I can't recommend the Soweto Shack enough - we will be back!
