Went for dinner Monday night- many restaurants are closed. We were able to get in without a reservation. By the time we neared end of our dinner, place was nearly full.The food was very good; wine selection was limited, but overall I was satisfied and would come again.

Nice little underground restaurant! Went there after consulting TripAdvisor.Arrived just after opening and we were helped by a friendly waiter. Choose a menu (prices are very reasonable) with a special. The starter, main and dessert were tasty and plentyful. Noted a lot of locals, always a good sign. Highly recommended!

We went for lunch and took the menu du jour (3 courses). Really wonderful, simple well made food, great steak hache (beef burger) cooked the way you wanted, rare. A scrumptious chocolate fondant desert and good local cheese. The best thing of all was the tarif 12.50 euros per person!They have other menus at 19.50 and 22.50 with a wonderful choice of really appetising food.Looking forward to going back for another meal!

Arrived without a reservation and was given a table quickly despite it being busy. Starter was incredible, main yummy, service great. Got served our food quickly and the staff really was helpful. Loved it here and would recommend anyone reading bad reviews to accept not all visits are going to be spot in but lucky for us, it was. Was a lucky find and finished our holiday off brilliantly.

We chanced upon this place. It was very busy and we suspect many of the customers were regulars. Very good veal and good service. Good value.

The setting is great really rustic with a wonderful style. The food was lovely everybody was complementary about what they were served. I would return.

We arrived at a nearby hotel after a long exhausting drive only to find that the restaurant was full and no attempt made to accommodate us. When we asked for the telephone number of a taxi service to take us in to Charleville-Mezieres they couldn't even oblige us with one! So we resorted to good old Tripadvisor and came across the 'Restaurant La Cave du Depot Vente'. Bless them, they kindly arranged a taxi to collect us, the lady driver of which was charming and pointed out the sights we must see the following morning in their lovely old town! We arrived at 'Restaurant La Cave du Depot Vente' only to find one other table occupied and wondered if we had made the right choice..... Make no mistake we hadn't! By the end of the evening the cellar was heaving with people with queues up the stairs waiting for a table! The food we had was sublime and local to the region. There were only two people serving what appeared to be a vast number of clientele but they coped admirably provided you were not in a rush and had all evening to enjoy their wonderful reasonably priced food and very good beers and wines. We had a great evening and would definitely recommend them.

My second visit, first time we ate in basement which is traditional cellar bit - this was nice, second time i ate in more modern area on ground floor where service was slow, wouldn't rush back
