Took a drive out in the weak Winter sunshine and found ourselves at the Wild Strawberry Cafe for breakfast...what a gem! The yurt is quirky but ever so cosy, with a log burner, fresh flowers on the tables and a friendly atmosphere. Our order of one full English and one vegetarian breakfast arrived in good time, whilst we were just halfway through our first cups of tea and coffee (cafetière, china teapot, bone china cups and saucers, makes such a difference 8 . The thing that hit us most was the sheer quality of the food, which had been cooked and presented to perfection and each mouthful was absolutely delicious! Had a wonderful afternoon tea today for 3. Despite it being a grey day outside, the yurt is snug and cosy. You could see the fire going in the corner it was fairly busy even on a Tuesday at 3pm, definitely a popular spot which gives a nice atmosphere! We were one vegan and two non vegans and all of the food was delicious. As a vegan you really appreciate to not only be catered for but have genuinely tasty vegan options (my picture doesn’t show all of the savoury options as there are some hiding on that bottom shelf). There was more than enough per person and they were kind enough to mention we could take any leftovers home in a cardboard takeaway box, which we did! Very good value and friend...
I cannot thank you enough for saving our baby shower. We ordered afternoon tea for a social distance baby shower to take away however on the day it was raining so much. The staff kindly reserved and let us use the gazebo . They were so nice throughout, even offered to help decorate. And the food amazing as always! Thank you so much for the amazing service and kindness
Lovely surroundings, great little shop onsite and pick your own fruit…. However, the coffee is made by machine so average at best and better to avoid the bought in cakes We had a brownie which was basically an inedible solid lump of chocolate! Having said that they must be doing something right as it’s always busy. Réservez une table maintenant
Not a great breakfast. Lovely setting but the food was not well cooked. The bacon was burnt and the poached eggs were undercooked. For the price you would expect better. Have been twice and not great either time. Shame as it could be so good in the beautiful dining room.
