Rural France has very few options in most of its villages--restaurantsare open a limited number of hours and are frequently closed all day. Such was the case when we went to this little town--they were only open ten more minutes when we rushed in, famished after having looked in vain for food in a nearby village. The hostess was lovely and although thé food was average the welcome was warm and food prices very low. Even the other patrons bade us "bonjour " and "au revoir"--just lovely people. I would not be at all surprised to find food much better at the start of lunch or dinner.
Don't give everything that is offered in the menu, I always wait for my glass of wine...The meal was nice but the welcome makes that we will not return.
