The Chequers - Réservation de table

late breakfast at the Chequers. Food was good as ever. Coffee and tea, didnt arrive until we had finished our breakfast despite 3 reminders to staff.When it finally arrived,, (an hour after we ordered breakast, apparently they had no teapots, there was no milk for the tea, This was the start of the rudeness from the a young male member of staff. After repeated requests for the milk this young man said «  cant you see I dont have it on me and I am busy », and carried on doing something else.On being told this wasnt good enough, and that he was being rude, he told the manager (within our hearing that someone « was getting arsy » Following this, Claire The Manager arrived to sort this out, and...

Whilst the staff were extremely pleasant, service was very slow. Two of our party had the crab and salmon starter as a main course with fries and they said it was delicious. However, the other two had the chicken schnitzel and that was overcooked and dry. For desserts, the Jude ice cream was delicious but two of the party had the pavlova and it was rock hard and inedible. We have been to the Chequers in the past and had good service and good food. I appreciate it was a very busy Saturday night but that should not make a difference. So, overall, a rather disappointing experience.

Very quaint pub in a lovely village. Friendly staff and good food. The downside was the service was very slow.. We had to wait for over 40 minutes for the starter alone, which when it arrived was a little disappointing due to the portion size!. Although it was very busy, and you would expect to have to wait, it felt as though the young waiting staff had not been trained very well in making sure drinks arrived to the table and plates cleared once finished. We had to remind them of both, but that in my opinion is down to the management to oversee.

We had a wonderful meal with friendly service. The restaurant was quite spacious; however, for some reason, we were seated in a corner surrounded by families with exceptionally loud children. Unfortunately, this made it difficult for us to have a conversation, which was the only downside to our experience. Réservez une table maintenant

We had a lovely lunch at the Chequers today. The staff were very attentive and friendly, particularly to our toddler. Our orders were taken and food delivered in good time, and our meals were delicious. The pub has a lovely atmosphere and I look forward to coming back.

I never had a bad meal here. we often only come to a meal or birthday party. eating is always excellent – our supplements to the cook. the employees are always funny and polite and worth knowing what is in the menu. highly recommended. x

Lovely Sunday Lunch experience. Awesome food, lovely attentive staff and a big roast that’s for sure! Although, this is not surprising, every time I go to the Chequers they hit the spot. Will be sure to return

I had a fantastic first impression! The food and drinks were excellent, the atmosphere was beautiful, and the place was clean and well-maintained.
