The food in this restaurant is extraordinarily good for a small place in a small village in rural Brittany. We have eaten here many times and it is consistently of a high standard; the food is beautifully presented and tastes wonderful. The set menu at...More

This place never fails to hit the mark. The Menu Ouvrier at lunchtime is always value for money and really good quality for 11€, drinks included. The service is excellent, even when it is really crowded at lunchtime. A very good choice of dishes in the evenings.

Fine dining in a traditional atmosphere. Service is good, and generally friendly, and there is a quite extensive menu .English is spoken, and there is a good selection of wines and Breton beers.

You'll find it right on the village square. We sat outside for Sunday lunch under a pergola covered in vines. Ordering one of the fixed price menus offers the best value. The amuse-bouche was coarse hummus with flavoured bread and a few winkles. I had the assiete to start - crab meat wrapped in smoked salmon and a couple of langoustines. Mains included steak, tuna and pork chops. I had a mixed fruit dessert with sorbet. We washed it all down with Provence rose and the local Lancelot beer. The bill came to just under 150 euros for five. Excellent value. We plan to return for a midweek lunch.

It's in the middle of Melrand right by the church, so it's easy to find and there's a large car park just yards away. We have visited many times. I do not eat meat so this can be a problem. Not here though, the lovely lady in charge finds me something else and this is even at lunchtime for the set menu when they are rushed off their feet! The menu changes all the time, the food is of excellent quality and the desserts are always really yummy! The evening meals, too, are very good value with something to suit all tastes. If you are out of the main holiday season, it's worth a phone call to check the opening times for the evenings.

We ate here on our last night staying in Melrand, our first opportunity as they had been closed earlier in the week. The food was delicious and drew on local produce, with the house starter a particular success for me.I was also really impressed by the way everyone was welcome, including a young child with her family - the restaurant provided books and games so she didn't get bored waiting for food while the grown-ups were talking, and so everyone had a pleasant evening.

We often visit this cosy restaurant and the atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. The lady owner is very welcoming and has some English and is helpful with the menu. It is essential to book in the high season.
