All dishes were well received, starters of foie gras, crab and langoustine were excellent as were the mains of lamb, beef, foie gras and fish. Perhaps too many different food items on the plate (at least 15 accompanying the fish) all good but too manyPuds were delicious, only negative shortbread was hard and crisp but would not deter us eating here again. Well done chef and especially the knowledgeable waitress

La Roseraie is one of our favourite local restaurants. Situated in this pretty hotel by the River Vezere, the restaurant is cosy and very French with panelled walls and pretty tables far enough apart that you feel private. It has a very romantic feel to it and the staff are charming and friendly. To start with we had delcious Amuse bouche, followd by terrine of Foie gras with figs that had been cooked red wine which was quite delicious followed by Langoustines in a delicious sauce with hints of morrocan and curry spices. It was very good. We will definitely be going again.

Had three dinners at La Roseraie and all were wonderful. Menu reflects locally grown vegetables, meat and fish. Desserts unique, almost too pretty to eat!

Delicious food including mise en bouche to begin and petits fours to end. Excellent service with the waiter explaining the food as he put the plates down. Comfortable seating and although we were sitting outside on a very warm day, it was cool under the umbrellas and trees. Will definitely return next year.

Although it doesn't have a view of the river, this restaurant is much quieter than the riverside restaurants. It has a very calm, pretty setting surrounded by roses and set under trees. It has a really imaginative menu, and the food is delicious. It's a perfect setting for dinner.

Nice diner, in a nice setting. Perfect! Friendly staff. Amuses were fine, had some lovely spring roll and ris de veau. We took the menu. Price vs Quality rating is good.

France is seemingly full of restaurants such as this and it is a reason amongst many why France is such a popular destination. The decor is traditional, the service as expected (albeit there seemed a little confusion as to who was in charge - a strong maitre d'Hotel is always appreciated but not always evident, as here) and the food was of a good quality. Drinks in the attractive garden were relaxing, with warm weather a bonus. The menu was deliberately limited but sufficient and the price seems to be standard for the year at €39 for the 3 courses. The recommended local Vin Rose (Chateau Briand) was a good choice bit expensive at €28. Montignac is challenged for good restaurants and it is no surprise that this is one of the better ones. However, the excellent lunch at the Jardins D'Eyrignac the day after put it well into the shade.

I was staying at the hotel and had breakfast every morning in the inside dining room. There is a nice selection of breakfast items in a cozy dining area. Coffee is self serve so you can choose what type of coffee you would like from the machine. Dinner is served outside on the patio at tables with umbrellas. There is a grassy area where you can sit and enjoy a cocktail. The food is delicious, beautifully presented and the staff is attentive.
