Ok food, though the pizza was not baked enough The waiters must have been new in job, and not very skilled Cosy little square, but would not go again..

We ate at this restaurant twice before and enjoyed our time there. This time around everything had changed for the worse. The pizzas were terrible - the worst we have ever had. They were like "pizza soups' with no flavor whatsoever. The tiramisu we ordered for desert likewise was the worst tiramisu we ever ordered and we could not even finish it. At best it was frozen. The service was sloppy and amateurish. There is no wine list. The manager will take you to the "wine cellar" - where wines are kept at a very high temperature - and go into a robotic litany of pseudo wine descriptions. Most of the wines are sold at exhorbitant prices. Even though the square is very pleasant, this is not a place we will go back to.

Friendly and busy. Service good. Pizzas very good - fresh tasting, thin crust, enough sauce. Good large mixed salad to share. Wine by the glass was fine. We bottled out of the huge deserts! Enjoyed it

It is easy to find this restaurant , but hard to find places in it . Despite it we could spend good time this night . Good delicious plates and good wine , but prices are mildly overestimated .

I went there two times. This restaurant offers authentic Italian food, yet small quantity of everything. The lasagna is okay. The pasta is good but not enough ,and the gelato is kind of small compared to another Italian restaurant I once ate. The second time i was there, the waiter was very impatient and looked unhappy, bad day I guess. Is it a taste that I will die for ? No.

Kids like their pizza (and when its good so do us grownups), and this place was one of the best we tried in MPL. Good fire oven-baked pizza and fresh pasta made this one of our favourite places to eat while living for 15 months in Montpellier. The entrées (starters) are few, but you don't need a big selection. There are some tasty charcuterie, olives and salads to choose from. I like that we could apply our own olive oil and balsamic to the salad. The main course offers a good varied selection of pizzas (my kids always went for the margherita, basically plain tomato and mozza topped with a few back olives). The porcini was tasty, though a few more mushrooms would be better. My fave was the one with goat cheese. Then there is the fresh pasta. There is such a difference having fresh pasta to dried. Though this is a french owned chain of restaurants, the pasta and pesto are prepared in Italy and brought in on a regular basis (Italy is only a few hours away). I would purchase some pesto to bring home for another meal. The pièce de résistance is their wine cellar. If you want wine, you go in the back of the restaurant, and choose one for your table, and there is a wide variety of good Italian wines to choose from. From reasonable to very pricey bottles. The deserts are delicious standard Italian treats, with a french twist, like pannacotta aux amandes with chocolate syrup, a pretty good profiterole (good to share if not a big dessert eater), and a variety of gelato, among a few other choices. There is a wonderfully charming square where one can dine al fresco in the warmer/drier months (that's could be from early April to late September), and a cosy interior in the colder seasons. It may not be the most ideal for an intimate date-night, but still a welcoming interior. We often came as a family and on occasion as a small group, and it was great all times. The one downside, is the service is on the slow side. But with the good food coming, we have made it worth the wait. Ask for bread early to tide you over.

We've been staying in Montpellier for a few days and after a while you really need just plain simple food. I had spaghetti with fresh tomatoes. It was just what I needed. Simple but tasty. The restaurant is in a pretty square. Service was good and the cost of lunch was reasonable.

Ragazzi is a simple italian restaurant with top products. The selection of charcuterie in the antipasti is wonderfull and gives a perfect overview from what Italy has to offer. The pizze are perfect. But what strikes most is... there is no wine menu. If you want to order wine you go to the cellar and you select from a wide selection (from 20€ to far over 100 €). Fred, the owner a nd a wine expert, will provide you with good advice. Our preferred italian restaurant in MontpellierThe list of what they don't offer is worth reading (no ketchup, no coke, no children menu, no gruyere, no...) and makes us laugh each time we go
