We've tried a lot of Morzine restaurants already this season, and La Coupe, which we've visited twice now, is up there with the best of them. It's pretty new - I think it's a new incarnation of an older restaurant - and has such a lovely buzz about it. There's a big roaring fire with sofas to chill in, and the bar and restaurant have an equally relaxed feel to them. The food is really good too. 'Foodie' enough to provide relief from the usual mountain fare, but no foams, smears or art installations. I had a fillet steak which was perfectly cooked, and the double cooked chunky chips are AMAZING. (And I don't use capitals lightly!) I also had a fab margarita - never to be relied upon, in my experience - and the service was superb. Our waitress was smiley, attentive and generally lovely. Will definitely be going again.
