I'm going back to morganti with my family two years away from the first time. In 2015 I fell in love with this restaurant not only for good food but also for the atmosphere itself that is breathing sitting at the tables under the plants... ! This year I go with the bitter in my mouth on a too salty bill....necessarily say we ate well. but still spending a little too much... I think I'll come back...to try again next summer because I'm getting mugged. at the right price. Like it!
I honestly expected more from this restaurant by reading positive comments. rather expensive for the dishes offered. I took the swordfish on the grill and served me a thin and rather hard and flavorful few. when a dish exceeds the 20 euros you expect something more. definitely better the meat that ate my children. Not bad sweets. very pleasant location under the branches of a large tree and friendly service.
If you're looking for a good restaurant, hidden, and provides optimum service and food. This is it! The food is fresh, well cooked,presented and served. Our waiter Christian is one of the best I have met. His ability to retain all our orders yet serve, give suggestions and aid with my baby was exceptional. The sitting is outside but covered by a tree located in the center of the restaurant (it's not hot)!. The sea is a few steps away so a bath after dining was exactly what we did! The white wine was also so good! Definitely a place I'll visit again
We were seated at a private spot by a window in a lovely room with a piano, stone walls and a wooden barrel ceiling. A charming girl waited on us and was a delight. She wrote down the names of all 6 wines we tasted. They were unusual picks and all perfectly matched with our dinners. The chef served up little surprises... the warm grissini wrapped with Iberian prosciutto came with mascerated popcorn & tapenade. The velouté of asparagus was set off by crumbled almond bits. Great scallops. Great langoustines & white asparagus.
I wrote a review of this restaurant two years ago and it was dreadful. Poor food and confrontational staff. However it has greatly improved, I do not know if it is under new management but much much better.I wouldn't have returned but it was recommended by our B&B landlord and we put the address into the satnav and off we went not knowing it was taking us to the same place. We nearly didn't stop when re realised but it looked different inside and there were a lot of people eating. Also it was late so we were not sure where else would be open, we gave it a go.Both had the special which was a very good steak with vegetables and potato's and was really well cooked. The staff did all appear to be different and we found them helpful and efficient. In all a good eating experience and I am glad we took the plunge and gave it a go.
