I stayed in the hotel next door and found this restaurant very conveniently placed for my family for an evening meal. I had the cambert on baked tomatoes which was really delicious followed by the Steak with Roquefort which was a bit over done but was still tasty. The owner and staff were really friendly and accomodating for my two year old. I had the impression that they didnt really serve food at 6.30pm often as we were the only family in there at that time who were eating. So it was nice that they made an effort for us.I would definitely visit again mainly for the friendliness in comparison to other restaurants which are less accomodating to my poor french!

This restaurant.. brasserie really, was right outside our hotel door and the obvious place to eat after a long international train trip and poor sleep in a sleeper carriage the night before.. My adult son and I both ordered entrées (which were basic but ok) and steaks; his the brasserie menu pepper steak, mine the 'a la carte' menu with a 'special mushroom sauce'. Other than a 12 euro price difference and slightly different sauces, they were identical meals, both with small steaks, mashed potato and over-cooked greens.First mouthfuls of the mushroom sauce had grit in it. I persevered but this was followed by more gritty mushrooms, then topped off by crunching my teeth on a larger piece of dirt.. you know, the type of dirt you get on mushrooms stems? My son suggested it may have been pepper so I tasted it, but it wasn't pepper. Worse still.. I felt a hair in my mouth.. got it out and it was from a bag or twine.. or something. I tried scraping the sauce off and eating the meal, but by this time I was so turned off I couldn't eat it. My son was also struggling to eat his meal.I politely let the owner and waitress know, only to cop a huge mouthful of abuse from the owner, who said she had been cooking for 20 years (as if that means one cannot make a mistake!) and that the sauce was meant to be like that and she instantly demanded I pay for the meal.. To me this said that she thought I was attempting to get out of paying! 80.50 for the worst meal in a month in restaurants all over Europe! I gave her 80 euros and she demanded the other 50 cents.. at which I told her to stick it up her...you know..Don't trust this woman or her poor excuse for a restaurant. I have never had a problem with a meal where the cook will not take responsibility. I could not believe this woman would be so rude and felt very insulted by her. Oh.. otherwise, the food was pretty poor anyway! There was also very loud 80's pop music playing on a radio, which killed any atmosphere it may have had.

It was 1992 when I discovered this gem of a restaurant. Call it a Bistro, call it a Brasserie but whatever you call it, you know you are going to get a superbly prepared and excellent tasting meal. Her food never fails to satisfy. La Dame's appetizers are unlike any others: green salad with walnuts, sun dried tomatoes with goat cheese, escargot in roquefort sauce, etc. My favorite entrees have been the gambas (jumbo prawns), steak with herbs of Provence, and duck filet in coriander. Her homemade desserts are always a lovely surprise: crumble of the day, tart of the day, homemade creme caramel and so many others. Not a big place but there is an upstairs and also outdoor seating. The wine list is good and reasonably priced. The Formula is a good deal (starter, entree, dessert). Claude always greets us with a warm welcome, that is, if she is not overseeing the happenings in her kitchen.

Please, do not go in this pretentious restaurant, the setting is soo ridiculous and the food not so good.

Not expensive, outdoor seats too. Good menu and friendly serviceThe gypsy style owner is a character- she casts a smile and a beady eye over her girls and the diners- The throwback interior is cast in a pink haze and the location is nice. This is what paris is about(to me), the perfect antidote after a dreadful night at the hotel next door.

Wonderful friendly and welcoming little restaurant, which is totally unique- especially the fusion of cuisine!

Excellent value menu, very wide choice of dishes, and always a warm welcome from Claude, la patronne. Not gastronomic cuisine, but a fun place.

Great, cozy, family owned & run, French resto. I tried several menu items, top favorites: the entrecôte steak was juicy, potatoes crispy. Poached egg on cheesy grits (oeuf poche au nectaire) was smooth & flavorful.
