Lucky for us, our host suggested this incredible organic vegetarian restaurant as dinner before we caught a film at the near by cinema Les Melies. They even have a dinner and movie deal for those interested which is incredibly well priced for the quality and experience of dining there. We were highly intrigued by the diverse and highly creative selection of dishes that it made it quite difficult to choose. We eventually each chose an entree as well as a main plat and it was almost too much food, but so delicious we had no regrets leaving our plates completely clean. The portions were very generous, and the dishes change according to what is seasonally available making your dinner completely guilt free and sustainable. I had some Chickpea Kofta in a butternut quash sauce that was sensational and my boyfriend opted for a Lentil and Rice crepe stuffed with mushrooms and broccoli sauteed in miso that was beyond fantastic! We had no room for desert but next time for sure. Definitely a must visit for gluten free/ vegan/ vegetarian/ organic options that will not leave your taste buds or tummy disappointed!

A lovely casual little restaurant with a very tasty menu. Gluten-free options are plentiful as well as some of the best vegetarian food we've had in France. This place is well worth a visit. Staff is very friendly.

This quaint restaurant is situated near the organic market but the neighborhood is very quiet. The lady running the restaurant is a very friendly and welcoming person. The place serves only vegetarian fare and the menu has only a few options for the three courses. But each dish is finely crafted With some unusual ingredients that you ' begin to understand why: quantity and quality can not usually be maintained simultaneously. I have been very impressed with the taste and flavor of the soups. I tip my cap to the care and thought that goes into the preparation of each dish. Be warned that the flavors are subtle and one can miss them altogether if the taste buds have been degraded by coarser foods !!

After two weeks of travel in France, Holland, and France, we were delighted when a young woman at the Tourist Office in Pau recommended Les Amants du Marche; she even called them to mKe a reservation for us. Hilary, the owner, is charming and knowledgable about the menu. Since she's English, we were able to communicate perfectly with her. The food was wonderful, deliciously prepared, and even the wine was "bio" (organic). For a vegan, travel in France or Spain can be challenging as most menus are very "meat-centric." This restaurant was a wonderful respite. Highly recommended for vegans and non-vegans (like my husband). Delicious!

Great food, fresh, creative and healthy. Bravo for all: no eggs, no butter, no cream and yet manage to provide tasty and imaginative dishes. Superbe.

We came here as it was the only vegetarian place we could find when staying in the area.Firstly this restaurant is in an awful part of town with some kind of borstal or prison right opposite. I did not feel safe at all walking down this and the surrounding roads with my husband at night, and I am not a 'sheltered' type! The waitress helped us with translating the menu, which was about the only good thing about this experience. My food arrived and it was so disgusting, I could not finish it. In my 20 years as a veggie I have eaten some strange and sometimes unpleasant meals to 'get by' as you do sometimes, but this was by far the worst. It really did shock me, too, because in a place like France you expect the cuisine to be of a good standard! My dish was like a very large spring roll/samosa type thing. The pastry was not cooked properly and was raw inside. The vegetables inside were flavourless. I have no idea what you have to do to a cauliflower to make it not taste of cauliflower. There was no texture to the filling, just an awful mush that stuck to my palate like a very unpleasant powdery glue.I did not finish my meal and left without dessert, I didn't even want to try it after that main course. My husband's meal wasn't much better although he did manage to finish his, but he did feel it was very primitive and something you would have got in the 1970s in England. I don't like writing bad reviews but this really was awful.
