I've visited the restaurant with my wife just before summer season. We've waited a while to be seated but nobody take care about us. In first moment we've considered that we can chose place and simply sit there. What was our surprise when waitress appear and in very rude way has informed us that we will be not served at this place and we have to change table. Table what she has shown us we should share with many, many many ants - what we don't like. In this moment I've felt that is not my way to pay for food in such unpleasant company - and we left - what I advice to everybody who are thinking to eat there. Is many others restaurants around.

After driving back from St Nazaire & being disappointed by the whole place we were looking for somewhere to lunch whilst driving back to La Baule & this place caught our eye in the centre of Pornichet. They were just about to close but said they could offer us a table on the terrace which we gladly accepted. A good lunch time menu covering Moules, salads, Meats, fish & various bruchetta's all at a reasonable price. We made our selection & did not have to wait long for our dinners to arrive. Simple food, but well prepared & did the job for lunch. The place looked quite nice also on the interior.

Went here in summer. The manager was very friendly and after a warm greeting they recommended the moules, which was on a special with a glass of muscadet. They were, and still are, the best moules I have ever had in my life! The experience was great - interior very old style, traditional charm, young helpful waitress, great service, very friendly atmosphere, and I think I had to go for another muscadet at sub-€2 - that, too, was excellent quality. Also in terms of quality, I went back in winter and asked if they had moules and the owner said no, because the weather was not warm enough yet. No attempt to sell, or convince me to come in, just very matter of fact, and given my meal experience, I would therefore say it is a special place with quality at its centre

We ate here for dinner one night and lunch the following day. The food was simple but good quality. We had a chicken curry and a chicken supreme which were both good; the next day we had moules frites and sausage with fries; the sauces were very tasty in each case. The prices were okay, but the wine list was very good value. The staff were nice, particularly the young guy with excellent English and Spanish. The outside terrace is lovely, overlooking the market across the road.

We visited La Baule in the Off season and most eating houses were closed. This small country style restaurant was one that was open. The restaurant naturally specialises in French Country style cooking especially sea food and fish. Unfortunately it's other specialty is cooking with lard, I assume it must give special flavour but clearly it makes many dishes unsuitable for vegetarians and certain other groups of people. As we had no choice late at night we ate at this place. The hostess was quite nice and spoke good English which made it easier to order. The salmon I had was somewhat over cooked and dry but was edible. Surprisingly for a French restaurant there was very little sauce something French cooking is famous for but may be not in this region. My wife had basically sautéed vegetables which again were edible but nothing fancy. The restaurant is small with rustic country feel to it. If we had a choice we would have chosen another restaurant.

Unfortunately we were in La Baule in the off season and there were very few eating establishments open. This is a small restaurant serving mostly foods cooked with lard hence the name. This makes it difficult to find meals if you are a vegetarian or do not eat pork. The vegetarian meal is extremely limited but there are some sea food dishes. The salmon was somewhat over cooked and dry but the portions, as you would expect of a French restaurant small and manageable. Surprisingly given French meals are famous for their sauces there wasn't a lot of it. I would call this restaurant adequate but limited in it's choices.

We ate here on a couple of nights, partly because we enjoyed it the first night but also because there were not many restaurants open which was disappointing for mid September. Food was good with a reasonable choice of meat and fish dishes. My wife had the moule which were particularly good. Overall it was an enjoyable place to eat offering good value and good service.

Went here for a friend's birthday lunch and ordered one of the signature dishes- Moules Marinieres (mussles in a cream sauce with garlic). Food arrived promptly and was absolutely delicious. The massive portion of mussels served with home made chips was complemented by a glass from their extensive wine list. Add in a fantastic homemade dessert- Tarte Tatin (caramelised apple tart), and the meal was complete.
