I have never had a bad meal here, although I found the green curry to be spicier than expected. Order regular takeaways from here mostly very nice food at the usual going rate prices Only issues the constancy is sometimes a little below par? lets say i order my favourite 5 times over, 2 out of the 5 times the meal will seem quite different, with different sauce and different veg? sometimes very tasty sometimes a bit annoying? the main chef/ cook does seem to be the same person so i cant understand why this happens? 5 stars on a good day 3 star on a bad day.
Lots of great veggie choices on offer here as well as omni versions. Best to book if you want to eat in, as the restaurant area isn't huge. The big table in the back is a bespoke piece that the owners commissioned using wood from their own land, and it's gorgeous. The food is good quality, tending to be on the spicier side. Service can be on the slower side, so may be worth phoning your order in.
I've visited The Lantern several times with friends and family. There are many veggie options and a great selection generally. The owners are really friendly and always try to do their best for you. The large table at the rear of the restaurant was made from reclaimed wood from their own property.It's stunning! It's known as a noodle bar but the menu is far more varied. Recommended. Excellent service and excellent food. We placed a large telephone order for 7 hungry adults who were staying in the middle of nowhere about 5 miles from Newtown just as the football semi final started. The food was delivered by half time, it was hot it was delicious and we had a gift of prawn crackers! Great service, good price
