We had an amazing dinner at this chalet at the Col de la Couillole in the Mercantour National Park. After a day of cross country skiing where we rented the skis from La Fripouniere, we were warmly welcomed by Anne-Claude and Patrick, owners of this bed and breakfast (and gastronomic dinner) chalet. The cooking was out of this world!!! We had the set menu which began with warm home made bread and butter, followed by artisanal dry meats, creamy chestnut soup with truffles oil, the most delicious tasting lamb that melts in your mouth with potatoes, blueberry pie with cream. We finished our dinner with coffee and a digestif made by Patrick from wild thyme and flowers gathered in the high mountains. It was an unforgettable evening, the dinner was delicious without exception, served in a cozy chalet warmed by a fireplace in the midst of the mountains. This restaurant should not be missed by anyone who love great food.
