Only one word to describe this place - WOW! It is a converted bank, with many original features - tiled floors, barred windows, safes, keys ... and you've got to visit the toilets just so that you can walk through the room containing the safety-deposit boxes! There's even a table made from the old glass counter screen, and the wood from the counters has been used to make dividing partitions. And the food ... YUMMY! Prepared in an open kitchen, there is something for every appetite. We had a simple Galette for lunch, a full 3-course meal for dinner. Advertised as a "Creperie/Brasserie", there is a wide choice of dishes. Not fine-dining (you can visit the owners' other restaurant, the Hotel d'Angleterre for that!), but EXCEPTIONAL QUALITY. Great, friendly service in an often overlooked town (30km from Le Mans, and I suppose the name makes us English think of the Channel port!). La Banque even offers Takeaway Food. Take your Galette to the lake-side and eat in peace with the mallards!
